There once was a man, a man who would change City 18 forever. The man I am going to tell you about had been on a very, very long journey to get where he was. Mark Adams is his name. You could say this man had the biggest impact on the life of City 18 and City 17. He had been through and seen some sights.
The start of this man’s journey had been quite sudden to say the least. Living in City 45 he got unwillingly transferred to City 18. He had only been about for a week before little old Mark had gotten into trouble with an uncivil citizen; Alexis Jordain. Alexis seemed to have it out for Mark. Mark had been threatened by him in the slums apartments. Mark thought it was for the best that he didn’t report this.
Later on in Mark’s adventure he had decided to apply for the Civil Worker’s Union, oh how did Mark not realize that this would become the best opportunity he would ever take to get to where he was? Mark was accepted into the CWU, he loved the job, putting blood sweat and tears for the Union. Mark was notified that the director, Elizabeth Reilly had gone missing. Mark did not take much thought on this. The next director Mark had to get acquainted to was Olive Monday; Mark was rather fond of Olive, looking at her as more of a friend figure than a boss. After a while Olive saw great potential in Mark, awarding him with the Apartment Manager position, Mark accepted this. Mark had his hands full with this position, as all the citizens wanted a place to call their own.
A few months passed when a huge outbreak in antlions broke out and after a week massive tremors occurred. All citizens got ordered to to get in the Combine Civil Housing for a headcount. After a while the Combine realized that the City was worsening to a state that evacuation had to take place. The CCH crumbled to the whole of City 18’s eyes. All citizens were then moved to the hospital. This was when the City really took a beating, antlions rushed in attacking the hospital's doors, which, eventually broke dropping a massive amount of debris blocking the only exit. All the Combine and citizens thought their time was up, they were wrong.
The debris was moved by the Combine. After that, all of the citizens ran to the train station. Since being ordered by the Combine to do so, Olive told Mark that they should possibly run away, resist. Mark declined the offer. All the citizens are now lined up in the train station with the Combine, ready for evacuation.
Antlions swarmed into the unexpecting citizens and Combine, causing much more damage to the train station’s structure. The Combine defended themselves. All the citizens and Combine fled onto the train that was ready to evacuate them to the industrial sector of City 17. The train ride was a success.
The population of City 18 had now been moved to City 17, City 18 gets rebuilt again, probably in about 3 years. Once the citizen refugees of City 18 arrived in City 17 with the Combine leading of course. All the citizens were led to the new Combine Civil Housing in City 17. Mark was the Apartment Manager, so the Combine ordered him to house all of the remaining citizens. This proved to be a challenge, but Mark powered through for his love of the Union. After he housed all the citizens, everyone was allowed to roam the city and do as the pleased… mostly.
Mark and Olive were introduced to the new Civil Worker’s Union store, it was much bigger and even had 2 floors. They both tried to get settled to the new store, they managed. A few days passed until Mark chose his own apartment, he chose the best. Mark had now been resting, trying to take in the past event which had taken place.
A month has now passed. (To be continued)[/color]
